摘要: Abstract A key aspect of the longitudinal tensile failure composites is stress redistribution that occurs around broken fibres. Work on this topic has focussed mainly field surrounding a single fibre; however, an important limitation as unstable in carbon fibre bundles when cluster about 16 or more fibres formed. Therefore, we have developed detailed Finite Element (FE) model to investigate how varies with number cluster. The results show both recovery length and concentration factor increase significantly increasing We also analytical model, suitable be included existing new bundle models, captures vary size, validated its predictions against our FE simulations. Finally, extended predict survival probability using Monte Carlo simulations, found these were good agreement experimental microcomposites.
