Narratology for interactive storytelling: a critical introduction

摘要: Most research in Interactive Storytelling (IS) has sought inspiration narrative theories issued from contemporary narratology to either identify fundamental concepts or derive formalisms for their implementation. In the former case, theoretical approach gives raise empirical solutions, while latter develops as some form of “computational narratology”, modelled on computational linguistics. this paper, we review most frequently cited perspective IS research. We discuss particular extent which they can actually inspire technologies and highlight key issues effective use IS.
