摘要: Summary •Floral scent is a complex trait of biological and applied significance. To evaluate whether production originating from diverse metabolic pathways (e.g. phenylpropanoids isoprenoids) can be affected by transcriptional regulators, Arabidopsis PRODUCTION OF ANTHOCYANIN PIGMENT1 (PAP1) transcription factor was introduced into Rosa hybrida. •Color profiles PAP1-transgenic control (β-glucuronidase-expressing) rose flowers the expression key genes involved in secondary metabolites were analyzed. significance modification, olfactory trials conducted with both humans honeybees. •In addition to increased levels phenylpropanoid-derived color compounds when compared flowers, lines also emitted up 6.5 times higher terpenoid compounds. Olfactory assay revealed that bees could discriminate between floral scents flowers. •The increase volatile PAP1 transgenes not caused solely activation their respective biosynthetic genes, but probably resulted enhanced flux phenylpropanoid isoprenoid pathways. The mechanism(s) governing interactions these are responsible for specialized remains elucidated.
