摘要: The inheritance of mutated suppressor genes, such as BRCA1 and BRCA2, is acknowledged an etiological factor in hereditary breast carcinoma (HBC). Two different molecular mechanisms are possible; the Knudson's "two hits" or gene haploinsufficiency. Etiology sporadic (SBC) not known, although data support possible role betaretrovirus Mouse Mammary Tumor Virus (MMTV). This study analyzes presence MMTV exogenous sequences two representative groups HBC SBC, excluding any contamination by murine retroviral material endogenous betaretroviruses. 30.3% 56 SBC contained sequences, against 4.2% 47 (p < 0.001). Cases positive for viral showed p14, signal peptide envelope precursor. result was expected based on fact that HBCs, having a specific genetic etiology, do need action carcinogenetic agent.
