摘要: Green and low cost production of strategic materials such as steel graphene at large scale is a critical step towards sustainable industrial developments. Hydrogen green fuel for the future, key element clean steel. However, economic hydrogen barrier its utilisation in iron steelmaking, other possible applications. As challenge, water electrolysis, which commonly used carbon-free hydrogen, uneconomic involves various problems including corrosion equipment, use expensive catalysts high over-potentials, limiting viability. Moreover, transportation from electrolyser to unit problematic terms safety. From thermodynamic point view, potential efficiency splitting process can greatly be improved temperatures. Therefore, practical approach resolve above-mentioned shortcomings based on electro-generation temperature molten salts, generated situ produce metals, alloys or commercially valuable materials. Clean alloy powders particularly interesting due rising advanced manufacturing methods like additive manufacturing. The produced salts also preparation value carbon nanostructures single multi-layer quality nanodiamonds. combination these findings lead fabrication hybrid structures with energy environmental Surprisingly, variety Fe, Mo, W, Ni Co-based should achievable by electrolytic around 1 V, easily powered photovoltaic cells. This review discusses recent advancements topics.
