Hardiness, type A behavior, and the stress-illness relation in working women

摘要: Hardiness has been proposed as a stress-resistance resource in maintaining health. This construct shown to act conjunction with the Type A behavior pattern affecting illness. In this study, we examined relation women (N = 82) use of Structured Interview and Jenkins Activity Survey assess behavior. As expected, there was strong stress-illness association. However, were no hardiness main effects nor interactions between stress, behavior, hardiness. significantly associated age, education level, marital status. No differences composition found high stress/high illness stress/low groups. Only Powerlessness scale related These results are discussed comparison other studies. Particular attention is focused on possible sex differences, implications for future research suggested.
