摘要: Abstract Interpretive ethnography was used as a framework to examine perceptions of physical activity behavior 12 adults with mild mental retardation. Four parents and two job supervisors also agreed participate. Multiple data sources included in-depth interviews, diaries, accelerometry, informal observations. Participants reported many barriers, benefits, leisure choices similar the general population; however, particularly salient themes related negative influences lack guidance from support systems were apparently unique this group. Results suggest that (a) retardation need specially designed education training programs (b) supports system providers should be educated regarding importance health for these individuals.
