摘要: Introduction: We describe an unusual case of anaerobic bacteraemia caused by Fusobacterium gonidiaformans and Peptoniphilus asacchacrolyticus, both commensal organisms normally found within human oropharyngeal, gastrointestinal genitourinary tracts. Case presentation: One week following a routine colonoscopy with polypectomy, 65‐year‐old male renal calculi was admitted 3‐day history severe abdominal pain chills. He required urgent placement percutaneous nephrostomy tube. Urine cultures were negative but blood positive for assachacrolyticus. Conclusions: We hypothesized that, his colonoscopy, the patient developed transient gut organisms. In setting multiple ureteral calculi, this became clinically significant infection, manifesting as acute ureterolithiasis concurrent bloodstream infection. The collection culture led to pathogen identification appropriate antimicrobial therapy.
