摘要: Abstract The lipid deposition pattern in economical crustaceans determines their flavor and commercial value. In this study, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was used to compare the patterns of three prawn species: red swamp crawfish (Procambarus clarkii), oriental river (Macrobrachium nipponense), whiteleg shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei). To our knowledge, is first report determination total volume tissues these species by using three-dimensional (3D) images. MRI results showed that lipids were deposited as only visceral adipose tissue; specifically hepatopancreas seldom gill muscle tissues. consistent with measured after traditional dissection. chemical analysis indicated content hepatopancreas, muscle, whole body crayfish significantly higher than shrimp. We found gonadal a non-destructive method evaluate plumpness live female crawfish, those histological analysis. male shrimps starved, mesenteric biochemical successfully detected changes metabolism response starvation. Thus, can be study physiological state help us understand intact crustaceans.
