Perceptions of the general public on forest sector responsibility: A survey related to ecosystem services and forest sector business impacts in four European countries

摘要: This paper investigates public perceptions related to forest ecosystem services (ES), which have been identified as one of the key topics in sector communication. ES represents a prime example an issue that merits more in-depth analysis. In this study, we (I) evaluate views general on importance forests contributing different ES; (II) determine public's need for information impact businesses ecosystems; and (III) assess how responsibly believes companies act relation their impacts ecosystems. A structured questionnaire using 5-point Likert-scale was made available online survey targeting respondents from four European countries (Austria, Germany, Finland Slovenia) each national language English. Between May September 2015, 219 responses were received analyzed descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis, t-test, ANOVA. Respondents showed high levels agreement items accounting regulating supporting ES. Information needs business found be high, whereas there much greater division about level perceived responsibility. Regarding perception ES, three dimensions identified: “primary ES”, “consumable “social cohesion ES”. Some relationships between respondents' socio-demographic characteristics uncovered: example, “Consumable ES” are important female those who do not derive income sector.
