摘要: Abstract Physiological needs for thermal comfort, nutritional and healthiness make colder hotter climates more demanding than temperate climates. Affluence may help to meet those demands. Two country-level studies indeed show that demands (colder climates) wealth-related resources (higher income per capita) are joint roots of happiness (N=55) altruism (N=71). In richer societies but poorer less happy altruistic. happier unhappier. both tend be at the expense being altruistic whereas happier. The findings generate a demands–resources theory on self- other-directed consequences thermoclimate.
