摘要: Currently, vascular streak dieback (VSD) attacks have widespread in areas ofthe center of cocoa (Theobroma cacaoL.) production, especially inSulawesi. Salicylic acid and benzoic are part phenol compounds reportedlyacts as bioimmunoregulator increasing plant resistance to that pathogen. The objec-tiveof this research was investigate effect exogenous salicylic applications VSD disease attack on seedlings. conducted at Indonesian Coffee Cocoa Research Institute,Jember, East Java. This experiment designed using randomized completely block design with three replications. treatments included concentrations salicylic 0.5 mMol, 1 2 mMol; concentration mMol,2 control (water spray). Observations were based the incidence severity damage disease, height, stem diameter, number leaves, stelate trichome, chlorophyll, width length stomatal apperture, stomata. Exogenoussalicylic phytohormone can reduce insidence VSD. In conclusion, our results indicated promoted closure leaf by decreasing width-stomatal closure. had no stem stomata, trichome.
