摘要: Abstract With growing evidence of the adverse health effects air pollution—especially fine particulates—investigators must concentrate on fetus, neonate, and infant as potentially vulnerable groups. Cokeworks are a major source smoke sulfur dioxide. In current study, authors investigated whether populations residing near cokeworks had higher risk perinatal outcomes. Zones 7.5-km radius around 22 in Great Britain were studied, within which assumed that exposure declined from highest levels 2 km to background levels. Routinely recorded birth death data for during period 1981–1992 analyzed. Each individual record postcode referred small geographical area typically 15–17 addresses.
