摘要: textabstractAims: For children with stable asthma, to test non-inferiority of care provided by a hospital-based specialised asthma nurse versus general practitioner (GP) or paediatrician. Methods: Randomised controlled trial evaluating standard GP, paediatrician an nurse, two-year follow-up. Results: 107 were recruited, 45 from practice and 62 hospital. After two years, no significant differences between groups found for airway responsiveness, FEV1, control, medication, school absence parental work absence. In the group there was significantly lower frequency regular review visits ('regular' = at least one per six months) compared group, both after year [45.7% 87.9% 94.3%, respectively, (p<0.0005)] years [26.5% 75.8%, (p<0.0005)].
