Total correction of tetralogy of Fallot in infancy: postoperative hemodynamic evaluation

摘要: Total intracardiac repair of symptomatic tetralogy Fallot was accomplished in twenty-nine infants under two years age with a mortality six per cent. All twenty-seven survivors are asymptomatic. Postoperative hemodynamic evaluation 17 randomly selected children performed at least 12 months following surgery. Pulmonary regurgitation present the but well tolerated, only minimal cardiac enlargement and no case were there symptoms or important consequences. Growth pulmonary artery respect to aorta occurred. Normal left ventricular performance indicated by normal ejection fraction systemic arterial pressure. Intellectual social development indistinguishable from "normal" group as assessed detailed psychological testing.
