摘要: Abstract Most land plants harbour endophytic fungi within their tissues. Such endophytes, which often do not damage host, provide useful models to study mutualistic and pathogenic fungus-plant symbioses. In the Xylariaceae a family of mostly fungi, ascospores are irreversibly activated, prior germination, minutes contact with potential host. This activation was studied establish biochemical nature specificity recognition between these various host plants. Ascospores different xylariaceous species can recognize plant species. The signature responsible for this is provided by mixtures monolignols, including glycosides Z-isoconiferin Z-syringin, released surface from small wounds in bark. Dose-response curves ascospore crude extracts purified monolignols demonstrate that compounds act as high-affinity messengers, spores distinguish structurally similar leading us postulate existence specific receptors molecules fungal spores.
