Characteristics of Cats Admitted to Czech Shelters.

摘要: The aim of this study was to describe the numbers and characteristics cats entering Czech shelters. Records sheltered were collected from three cat shelters situated in different regions Republic 2011 2015. A total 2170 admissions analyzed study. Significantly (p < .001) greater females (56%) admitted. Most (60%) admitted when they aged younger than six months. Cats with dark coat colors prevailed (73%), medium-shade followed (20%), light-colored rarest (7%). greatest summer (36%), by autumn (33%). fewest winter (14%). Adoption most common outcome for (65%), unassisted death (22%) euthanasia (11%) due health reasons. Only 2% reclaimed their original caretakers. length stay ranged 0 days 1736 days a median 45 days. These findings may help shelter operators define optimal strategies operational plans.
