摘要: BACKGROUND: In order to determine reference values for ambulatory blood pressure, a random population sample of 1057 persons, 20-88 years old, was investigated in geographically defined area Belgium. This article is the final report on cross-sectional phase this survey. METHODS:Twenty-four-hour pressure recorded at 20 min intervals from 0800 2200 h and 45 h. Conventional measured by trained nurses participants' homes also subgroup 532 persons locally organized clinic. A conventional exceeding 140 mmHg systolic or 90 diastolic taking antihypertensive drugs were criteria used distinguish between normotensive hypertensive persons. RESULTS: patients, whom 328 hypertensive, 24 h, daytime (2200 h) night-time (0000 0600 pressures averaged 119/71, 125/77 108/62 mmHg, respectively. Compared with values, home 3.5/1.5 lower 729 people but 11.6/4.5 higher patients. 95th percentiles 129/80, 137/88 121/72 These boundaries not materially altered when we considered only 275 participants who had been both clinic (127/79, 135/87 118/72 respectively). When, addition Belgian data, other reports large cohorts analysed, transition normotension hypertension measurement likely be within ranges 130-135/80-85, 135-140/85-90 120-125/70-75 pressures, CONCLUSION: comparison surveys earlier interim study, present analysis produced remarkably consistent results respect distributions measurements. The working definitions normality based measurements survey various studies need further validation terms incidence cardiovascular complications. For purpose, as well are being prospectively followed.
