摘要: Abstract A comparative study of selenium oxyanion sorption was carried out by means batch experiments on three argillaceous rocks that differ in their mineralogical compositions and textural properties. The results show no selenate (Se(VI)) onto the after 60 days, but clear selenite (Se(IV)), extent being closely related to initial Se(IV) concentration. At lowest concentration ([Se(IV)] eq −8  mol L −1 ), ranking rock affinity for is Black Shales > Opalinus Clay (OPA) > Upper Toarcian, with R d values 910 ± 70, 600 ± 65 470 ± 70 mL g respectively. isotherms acquired can be reproduced well Langmuir formalism, particularly a two-site model. comparison obtained these led identification pyrite associated natural organic matter (NOM) as one main phases involved retention. While desorption suggested significant reduction Upper Toarcian samples, reversible shown Black Shales OPA samples correlated sulfate increase, symptomatic surface oxidation which could limit favor sorption.
