Electrical conduction in γ-irradiated and unirradiated zinc-iron ferrites

摘要: The electrical conductivity of γ-irradiated and unirradiated finely-divided spinels composition (Znx2+Fe1−x2+Fe23+)O42−was studied in a nitrogen atmosphere as function temperature. results both ferrites with compositions x ⩽ 0.79 showed that the conduction occurred by fast electron exchange amongst Fe2+ Fe3+ ions situated on octahedral sites spinel lattice, hopping mechanism. For > it was found transition charge carriers through cation vacancies is predominant Some breaks conductivity-temperature curves were near Curie points. Seebeck voltage measurements behave n-type semiconductors. effect γ-irradiation conductivity, activation energy, mechanism discussed.
