摘要: This is an account of the Millimeter Wave Observatory (MWO), a 4.9 m diameter antenna facility that pioneered continuum observations planets and spectroscopy interstellar molecules from 1971 to 1988. The circumstances its founding, development instrumentation, major research contributions are discussed. MWO role in training personnel this new field illustrated by listing student postdoctoral observers, with titles PhD theses included data.
