摘要: Because of the difficulties commonly encountered in evaluating anticoagulant effect heparin at bedside and determining appropriate dosage schedules for its administration, we have been studying rate heparin’s disappearance from blood. However it is measured, half-life about 1.5 hr (4). This suggests that giving drug by intermittent intravenous injection every 4–6 hr, as usual, does not ensure a sustained degree anticoagulation, even when dose adjusted by, say, Lee- White clotting time. Furthermore, most reports excessive bleeding after administration heparin, patients1 body weights taken into account reporting admin istered (9,15), so possibility having administered an anticoagulating overdose can overlooked (3, 6).
