摘要: Abstract In this work we present a method to efficiently collect scintillation light when using monolithic scintillator crystals. The acceptance angle of the has been reduced by means optical devices reducing border effect which typically affects continuous We have applied procedure on gamma detectors for PET systems both position sensitive PMTs and arrays SiPMs. case SiPMs, approach also helps reduce photosensor active area. evaluated with variety different crystals thicknesses ranging from 10 24 mm. found that our design allows use crystal blocks thickness up 18 mm without degrading spatial resolution caused edge effects significant detriment energy resolution. These results were compared simulated data. first LYSO coupled an array 256 SiPMs individual guides are presented.
