摘要: Conventional approaches for fat and water discrimination based on chemical-shift suppression have reduced ability to characterize fatty infiltration due poor contrast of microscopic fat. The multiecho Dixon approach separation has advantages over suppression: 1) images can be acquired in a single breathhold, avoiding misregistration; 2) positive contrast; 3) the method is compatible with precontrast late-enhancement imaging, 4) less susceptible partial-volume effects, 5) robust presence background field variation; 6) bandwidth implemented, artifact decreased. proposed technique was applied successfully all 28 patients studied. This included 10 studies indication coronary artery disease (CAD), which four cases chronic myocardial infarction (MI) exhibited infiltration; 13 rule out arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC), there were three fibrofatty two confirmed ARVC; five cardiac masses (two lipomas). contrast-tonoise ratio (CNR) intramyocardial greatly improved, by 240% relative conventional suppression. For parameters signal-to-noise (SNR) decreased 30% late enhancement. provides sensitive means detecting signal contrast. Magn Reson Med 61:215–221, 2009. © 2008
