摘要: Abstract The age of the Shipu limestone-bearing section in Zhejiang Province, coastal southeast China, which is commonly called limestone, important for understanding depositional environment and tectonic background region. However, previous chronostratigraphic chronometric studies have produced competing results from Palaeozoic to Cenozoic. In order provide some constraints, 115 zircon grains tuff interbeds within three limestone units base top were selected U–Pb dating. A total 86 valid obtained. demonstrate that no older than 119 ± 2 Ma approximately 99 ± 3 Ma. These dates are possibly best time constraints on so far. They generally comparable upper part Lower Cretaceous Jiuliping, Guantou lower Chaochuan formations neighbouring areas. ages combination with new stratigraphic correlation suggest a transgression most likely took place widely China during Aptian–Albian. addition, roughly synchronous high stages Pacific sea levels, according (i.e., 113 ± 3 Ma, 109 ± 2 Ma 100 ± 2 Ma). It appears, therefore, may been caused sea-level changes Ocean. broad implications regional geological general.
