摘要: The biological study of behavior was shaped by the divorce between ethology and behavioral ecology twenty years ago. Whereas heirs promote a phenomenological behaviors, ecologists focus on their fitness consequences. I argue that both schools share same blind spot about link evolutionary past making up individual because common acceptance dichotomy ultimate proximate causation. By maintaining pan-selectionist view evolution in behavior, hampers exploring how epigenetic processes affect adaptive trade-offs. Giving would give impetus to research programs investigate traits associate clusters through development evolution. It further comprehensive phenotypes, reunification biology an attainable goal.
