摘要: Although much work has focused on how the presence of an audience may influence aggression and mate choice, little is known about this impact other behaviors such as resource defense or habitat use. While social behavior guppies, Poecilia reticulata, been extensively studied in contexts predator inspection choice copying, existence true effects not investigated species. P. reticulata do have a resource-based mating system, but males observed to form dominance hierarchies compete for access females. Male be altered when present maintain To test this, pairs male (n = 60) were allowed interact another male, female, no audience. Our findings show that spent more time zone was (p < 0.05). Males most chase one female These provide important addition existing literature by showing individuals can affect than courtship aggressive behavior.
