摘要: The modulation of the pyloric network stomatogastric ganglion (STG) lobster Panulirus interruptus by neuropeptide proctolin is described. First, effects on motor patterns were characterized in terms frequency and phase relations. Pyloric cycle lateral (LP) neuron activity increased ventricular dilator (VD) decreased with increasing concentrations (10(-9)-10(-6) M) applied proctolin. Next, individual neurons that constitute determined. Identified isolated from chemical electrical presynaptic inputs using pharmacological agents (Marder Eisen, 1984a) and/or photoinactivation following Lucifer yellow injection (Miller Selverston, 1979). Proctolin amplitude bursts produced pacemaker anterior burster (AB) neurons. Isolated LP (PY) responded to increases only when they at or above threshold. All other unaffected. To determine how direct resulted observed changes relations pattern intact circuit seen proctolin, deleted circuit. A comparison proctolin's those shows synaptic connectivity among directly affected unaffected it shapes network's response
