摘要: Although maximal-ratio combining (MRC) has be- come a widespread diversity-combining technique, its perfor- mance under interference is still not very well understood. Since the received at each antenna originates from same set of interferers, but partially de-correlates over fading channel, it exhibits complicated correlation structure across antennas. Using tools stochastic geometry, this work develops realistic analysis capturing effects for dual-branch MRC receivers in downlink cellular system. Modeling base station locations by Poisson point process, probability typical receiver being covered serving derived. For interference-limited case, result can be further simplified to an easy-to-use single-integral expression. result, shown that ignoring overestimates true performance 3%-10%, while assuming identical levels antennas underestimates <2%. In both cases, however, diversity order preserved. Finally, and selection spatial compared. Index Terms—Multi-antenna receivers, combin- ing, correlation, process.
