摘要: This study was designed to investigate the effects of low-intensity laser therapy (LILT) on periodontal ligament (PDL) remodeling during relapse and retention after completion orthodontic movement. The maxillary central incisors (n = 104) 52 rats were randomly divided into five groups according treatment modality: baseline control group without any intervention 8); retainer tooth movement 24); with fixed lased LILT 24). daily performed using a gallium-aluminum-arsenide diode in biostimulation mode: wavelength 780 nm, continuous waves at 70 mW output power, preset low intensity 1.75 W/cm(2) contact mode, resulting energy dose 5 J/cm(2) per irradiation for 3 s. animals euthanized days 1, 3, 7 removal appliance. Real-time RT-PCR quantitative analysis matrix metalloproteinases mRNA expression. Immunoreactivities collagen tissue inhibitor metalloproteinase observed compression tension sides. significantly facilitated expression tested MMP mRNAs both groups. TIMP-1 immunoreactivity inhibited by groups, whereas Col-I increased only group. These results indicate that would act differently stability additional wearing or not. when combined moved teeth may shorten period accelerating new position, whereas, left rather increase rate treatment.
