Goal setting as a feature of homecare services for older people: does it make a difference?

摘要: Introduction: health services delivered in an older person’s home are often implemented at a critical juncture individual’s functional status. Although homecare has potential to improve this situation, it focuses on treating disease and ‘taking care’ of the patient rather than promoting independence. The aim restorative is change philosophy from one where delivery care may create dependency provision which maximises independence, selfesteem, self-image quality life, reduces required. Aims: assess impact designated goal facilitation tool health-related life (HRQoL), social support physical function among community-dwelling people referred for homecare. Methods: total 205 participants [mean age 79.1 years, 71.3% female (intervention group) 76.9 years with 60.8% (control group)] were cluster randomised intervention or control assessor. arm involved completing assessors. This established rehabilitation aims. Control received standard needs assessment. Clients both groups then organisation service delivery. Results: there was greater over time HRQoL [measured by Short Form 36 Survey (SF-36)] group (P = 0.0001). There marked variation across providers types provided < 0.001).
