A holistic model of low vision care for improving vision-related quality of life

摘要: Vision impairment can have a significant impact on the wellbeing and quality of life an individual. rehabilitation has potential to improve these areas; however, four in five patients with vision are not being referred appropriate services. Barriers on-referral include, but limited to: (1) misunderstandings by both practitioners alike regarding which individuals might benefit or qualify for low services; (2) lack awareness available (3) unfamiliarity practice guidelines; (4) miscommunication between patients; (5) required patient travel limitations access; (6) perceived costs goods Further, current referral patterns do represent holistic patient-centric approach. Vision-related questionnaires tools assist health professionals providing optimal individualised care. This review explores evidence service delivery within Australia globally, activities daily living, instruments used assessment vision-related (VRQOL), competing priorities individual needs services rehabilitation, provides recommendations more patient-centred model
