摘要: Rothia dentocariosa (R. dentocariosa) is a gram-positive bacterium, which microorganism that normally resides in the mouth and respiratory tract. R. known to involve dental plaques periodontal diseases. However, it considered an organism with low pathogenicity associated opportunistic infections. Originally thought not be pathogenic humans, was first described cause infections 19-year-old female periappendiceal abscess 1975. The most prevalent human caused by include infective endocarditis, bacteremia, endophthalmitis, corneal ulcer, septic arthritis, pneumonia, peritonitis continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis. Three main factors have been reported increase risk of cardiac extra-cardiac dentocariosa, including immunocompromised conditions, pre-existing disorders, poor oral hygiene. Peritoneal dialysis (PD) may induce presumably due hematogenous spread from gingival or sources. This case study aimed describe former PD patient presenting peritonitis.
