摘要: Fluorescent lamps with thin and partial coatings of phosphor on bulbs ultraviolet transmitting glass were irradiated Hg 2537 radiation. Comparison similar which burned showed a decline in lumen output was the same general character all experiments, except for different time factors. This indicates that process lamp depreciation is fundamentally photochemical nature, involving excited mercury, but not requiring either ions or neutral atoms. It assumed superficial oxygen crystal react Hg* to form links type‐SiO‐O‐Hg‐Hg..., thus tying mercury resulting loss brightness.
