摘要: We used a previously described sensitive and specific ovine lentivirus (OLV) recombinant transmembrane (rTM) protein enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to detect anti-OLV antibodies define OLV infection in breeding ewes from nine US Meat Animal Research Center (MARC) flocks. estimated the production impacts of dam rTM ELISA seropositivity on ewe lamb productivity birth-to-weaning interval using data 1466 (of which 1242 actually lambed) their 2452 lambs born spring 1992 several multiple linear logistic regression models. By adjusting for weaning age, gender, type birth rearing, difficulty, flock, component or related alone was isolated. The ELISA-negative produced significantly more total weight weaned per ewe-lambing (3.84 kg) ram-exposed (4.95 compared OLV-positive flockmates. Negative also 0.11 0.09 ram-exposed, gave 0.13 were likely after (odds ratio (OR) = 1.9) equivalent ewes. Lambs reared by OLV-negative weighed 0.15 kg at birth, gained 8 g day through weaning, 0.59 56-day weaning. Preweaning mortality lower (OR 0.8) among ewes, although this difference not significant. Our results suggest that subclinical has important detrimental effects sheep occur cumulative fashion control efforts may be financially justified some
