摘要: OBJECTIVE To determine pet-related management factors associated with the carriage of antimicrobial-resistant Salmonella spp and Escherichia coli in a population pet dogs. SAMPLE 138 dogs from 84 households Ontario, Canada. PROCEDURES From October 2005 through May 2006, Canada, were recruited to participate cross-sectional study. Fecal samples submitted for culture E coli, which provided 515 bacterial isolates antimicrobial susceptibility testing. Multilevel logistic regression models random effects household dog created identify resistance. RESULTS Bacterial species, feeding homemade diet or adding food diet, raw anything chicken past week significant risk resistance this CONCLUSIONS AND CLINICAL RELEVANCE In study, several potentially important identified. Further evaluation may lead development evidence-based guidelines safe responsible ownership protect public, especially owners who are immunocompromised.
