摘要: Objective: To evaluate the regulatory properties of essential oil Melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree oil) on production oxygen derived reactive species by human peripheral blood leukocytes activated in vitro.¶Materials and methods: The ability tea to reduce superoxide neutrophils monocytes stimulated with N-formyl-methionyl-leucyl-phenylalanine (fMLP), lipopolysaccharide (LPS) or phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA) was examined.¶Results: water-soluble fraction had no significant effect agonist-stimulated neutrophils, but significantly dose-dependently suppressed monocytes. This suppression not due cell death. Chemical analysis identified components be terpinen-4-ol, α-terpineol 1,8-cineole. When examined individually, terpinen-4-ol fMLP- LPS- PMA-stimulated production; fMLP-, 1,8-cineole without effect.¶Conclusion: Tea suppress monocytes, suggesting potential for selective regulation types these during inflammation.¶
