摘要: Floating-point analog-to-digital converters (FP-ADC) are used for acquiring signals within a high dynamic range. The quantization range of FP-ADCs is several orders magnitude higher than that fixed-point converter (ADC). Comparing floating-point with uniform quantization, it shown the FP-ADC superior from statistical point view over ADC, but at price doubling conversion time. An improved achieves acquisition rate, while preserving highest possible resolution, presented. Simulation results illustrate performance new FP-ADC.
