摘要: Polyblend films were prepared from high-den- sity polyethylene (HDPE) and poly(l-lactic acid) (PLLA) up to 20% PLLA by the melt blending method in an extru - sion mixer with post-extrusion blown film attachment. The 80/20 (HDPE/PLLA) blend was compatibilized maleic anhydride grafted (PE-g-MA) vary ing ratios (up 8 parts per hundred of resin (phr)). Tensile properties evaluated obtain optimized composition for packaging applications both non-com- patibilized blends. compositions HDPE80 (80% HDPE PLLA) HD80C4 HDPE, 4 phr compatibilizer) found be optimum applications. However, bet- ter tensile strength (at yield) elongation break) noticed presence PE-g-MA. Further, thermal morphologies these blends evaluated. Differential scanning calo rimetry (DSC) study revealed that does not much affect crystalline melting point PLLA, but heat fusion decreased as compared neat HDPE. Spectroscopy studies showed evidence introduction some new groups gaining compatibility compatibilizer influenced morphology blends, apparent electron micro- scopy (SEM) supported Fourier transform infrared (FTIR).
