摘要: The functionalization of anionically polymerized isoprene with cysteamine applying the thiol-ene reaction is reported. Antimicrobial activity implemented by quaternization amino functionality either alkylation or protonation. resulting polymers were tested against Gram-positive as well Gram-negative bacteria strains according to Japanese Industrial Standard Z2801:2000 protocol, partly revealing excellent biocidal performance. Thermal stability up 200°C allows extrusion processing functionalized poly(isoprene)s. best performing polymer, that is, bearing butylated ammonium-groups, was compounded commodity material poly(propylene). compound 5 wt % polymer exhibited satisfactory properties. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
