Social capital in a regional inter-hospital network among trauma centers (trauma network): results of a qualitative study in Germany.

摘要: As inter-hospital alliances have become increasingly popular in the healthcare sector, it is important to understand challenges and benefits that interaction between representatives of different hospitals entail. A prominent example are certified ‘trauma networks’, which consist 5-30 trauma departments a given region. Trauma networks designed improve care by providing coordinated response injury, developed across USA multiple European countries since 1960s. Their members need interact regularly, e.g. develop joint protocols for patient transfer, or discuss safety. Social capital concept focusing on development relations interactions within network. The aim our study was explore how social generated used regional German In this qualitative study, we performed semi-standardized face-to-face interviews with 23 senior surgeons (2013-14). Apart addressing quality care, may, way strengthening among its members, serve valuable resource participating surgeons. Some could exploit strategic benefits.
