摘要: Aim: Bergenin is an active secondary metabolite, found in Bergenia ligulata , family Saxifragaceae, which important medicinal plant used the traditional system of medicine. It distributed throughout South and East Asia some European countries, usually growing on high altitude Himalayan region known as Pashanbhed (meaning "to break stone"). The rhizome B. has been since long time different formulations kidney liver disorders. Due to its exhaustive use system, it commonly adulterated with other plants do not contain chemical marker bergenin. Hence, we developed high-performance thin-layer chromatographic (HPTLC) method for quantification bergenin can be quality control. Materials Methods: A sensitive HPTLC estimation extracts formulations. Precoated silica gel plates were stationary phase, chloroform: methanol: acetic acid (8:1:1, v/v/v) was mobile phase. Results: R f value 0.28 ± 0.03. Detection performed by densitometry at 276 nm. calibration plot linear range 200–5000 ng correlation coefficient ( r 2 ) 0.999, confirms good linearity. content methanolic acetone 5.51 0.14 5.76 0.16, respectively. Conclusion: applied control standardization well checking presence adulterants.
