摘要: Opioid dependence (OD), often characterized as a chronic relapsing disorder, affects millions of people worldwide. The purpose this study was to examine the effect compliance with buprenorphine on reducing relapse among sample patients in treatment for OD. Patients new (N = 703) completed Addiction Severity Index (ASI) at baseline, and 1, 2, 3 months postbaseline. ASI is semistructured interview designed measure problem severity seven functional areas known be affected by alcohol drug dependence. Compliance defined taking medication least 22 past 28 days (80%), while classification based resumed use opioids during follow-up period (months 2 3). Relapse regressed onto demographic indicators, baseline composite scores, buprenorphine. Noncompliant were over 10 times more likely than those who compliant (exp β= 10.55; p .05). medication-assisted supports abstinence, essential patient recovery. Understanding factors that drive noncompliance may assist providers supporting recovery. (Am J Addict 2011;21:55–62)
