摘要: Abstract Background: The most recent polymerase chain reaction (PCR) detection protocols for the TT virus (TTV) permit one to identify presence of viral DNA in serum a majority healthy individuals, absence any particular risk factor. This is contrast with previous epidemiological studies that reported higher prevalence TTV infection populations such as haemodialysis patients (HD), haemophiliacs, intravenous drug users or diabetics. Objectives: To show these discrepant results were due different sensitivity (number copies detected) used initial and more studies. Study design results: We designed standardised primary PCR assay detects only viraemia >5×103 5×104 copies/ml genotypes 1, 2 3, compared this test those nested which 100-fold sensitive. Viraemia statistically frequent HD (54.3%), diabetics (54.7%), HIV-infected CD4 cells 500/mm3 (33%). Conclusions: These data suggest possible relationship between elevated loads level immunocompetence studied, therefore an immune control viraemia. corroborates findings showing stimulation system by interferon treatment was able clear
