摘要: Jasminum sambac Linn. (Family-Oleaceae) commonly known as Motia or lily jasmine is a scandent sub-erect shrub with young pubescent branches, broadly ovate elliptic, opposite leaves, white, very fragrant flowers cultivated nearly throughout the tropical and sub- parts of world. Traditionally plant used in fever cough, indolent ulcer, abdominal distension, diarrhoea, lowering blood glucose level, regulating menstrual flow, to clean kidney waste, inflamed shot eyes. Root, flowers, leaves act lactifuge, arrest secretion milk puerperal state case threatened abscess. Pharmacological activities reported so far are antidiabetic, antitumor, antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-acne , A.N.S stimulating effect. The present review an attempt highlight various ethno botanical traditional uses well phytochemical pharmacological from J. sambac.
