A tale of tweets: Analyzing microblogging among language learners

摘要: Abstract In these days of ubiquitous tweeting, language teachers must consider whether microblogging is an activity that will bring benefits to the learning experience. Recent research ( Junco et al., 2010 , Messner, 2009 among others) indicates Twitter becoming increasingly popular in classrooms, but few studies (see for example, Borau ) have empirically examined linguistic, attitudinal or content-based outcomes such implementation. This paper discusses role intermediate French class (4th 5th semester at University level), which students tweeted weekly with each other and native speakers. The goal using was build community learners U.S. France provide opportunities creative practice outside time. Data suggest participants quickly formed a collaborative they were able learn, share reflect. Attitudinal data discourse analysis findings are presented discuss use this medium learning.
