摘要: As emphasized in previous chapters, polypropylene (PP) has a number of favourable characteristics for use as matrix material high volume composite applications. It is cheap, abundantly available variety grades, inherently very tough and, through its rapid crystallization, offers the promise meeting short cycle times required by, example, automotive industry. A clear disadvantage almost total lack polarity [1] which leads to limited wettability by paints, coatings and adhesives well adhesion issues materials such glass mat reinforced thermoplastics (GMT). Effective techniques (corona, flame treatments etc.) are improve surface composites, but these methods leave interfacial properties unaffected since fibre-matrix interface created during melt-impregnation process itself. Bulk modification functionalization actual polymer molecule been shown enhance bonding, accompanied deterioration some mentioned above.
