摘要: Abstract Incorporation of nitric oxide (NO) donors in non-toxic polymeric matrices can be a useful strategy for allowing topical NO delivery. We have incorporated the NO-donor S -nitrosoglutathione (GSNO) into liquid poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG)/H 2 O matrix through S-nitrosation GSH by NO/O gas mixture. Kinetic measurements GSNO decomposition associated with release were performed at 25, 35, and 45 °C dark under irradiation UV/Vis light, λ  > 480 nm  = 333 nm. from to phase was confirmed mass spectrometry. The PEG/H stabilizes leading expressive reductions initial rates thermal photochemical release, compared aqueous solution. This effect is assigned diffusional constrains imposed on escape GS radicals formed solvent cage. allows storage PEG-GSNO formulations extended periods (more than 65 days freezer) negligible decomposition. formulation seems therefore applicable delivery displays potential as percutaneous absorption enhancer. Moreover, rate locally increased visible light.
