摘要: Objectives The naming convention in coagulation may cause confusion electronic ordering systems, leading to inappropriate test orders. We implemented utilization efforts and studied before after interventions for two specialty assays. Methods Two were implemented: names changed from factor assay activity, residents reviewed all V X requests. A retrospective review of activity orders was performed the period 1 year interventions. Results After interventions, decreased by approximately 40%. Resulted tests 53.8% 47.8%, corresponding reductions $2,493.05 $1,867.80 per laboratory charges respectively. Abnormal results increased 45% 59%. Factor outpatient clinics 21.6%. Conclusions Simple can reduce unnecessary costs.
