摘要: The determination of blood recirculation using urea nitrogen (BUN) measurements in hemodialysis patients is a standard technique. accuracy and reproducibility these calculations have never been determined. Two pairs studies (study A study B) were performed 13 during single dialysis treatment. Blood samples analyzed for BUN was calculated. first A) within 1 hour the initiation dialysis, with duplicate test 15 minutes. In B, dialyzer lines reversed an attempt to enhance recirculation. After minutes, tests again performed. Calculated recirculations before line reversal ranged from -3.3% 11.9% -2.9% 12.2% second test. A, there no correlation ( P > 0.05, r = 0.09) between calculated recirculations. increase observed. 16.3% 53.5% 5.4% 58.1% significant relationship observed B 0.81). results present show that use may not provide consistent indicator access patient low This lack consistency should be considered when determining further clinical
